Plan an event
Work with buckets Use buckets to sort tasks by type, such as event planning, marketing and ad collateral, and PR. Select Add new bucket and type a new task category. Select + to add tasks to a bucket, and type a name. Select Add Task. Work with labels Use labels to see which tasks need your attention. Type in names for your labels. Select a colored box to remove or add a label to a task. Add a comment Post a comment to discuss a task with the people it's assigned to. Type a message in the Comments box. Select Send. Keep track of tasks Use Charts and Board view to monitor progress for each team member and the overall project, or to sort and organize tasks. Select Charts > Group by > Due date to see which task is due next. Select Board > Group by > Progress to sort tasks by progress. Note: Tasks are organized by Not started, In progress, and Completed so you'll know when you're ready to launch your product. Source: Microsoft

Move a task With buckets set up by priority, you can move tasks from one bucket to another based on their urgency. Select a task you want to reprioritize and then move it to the bucket you want. See everyone's availability and assign a task Find an available team member and then assign a task to them. Select Charts. In the Members pane, find the team member with the fewest assigned tasks. Select Group by > Assigned To so Unassigned tasks appear first in the list. Select Members and drag the chosen team member onto the task to create the assignment. View everyone's status Look at all the tasks in Board view to see everyone's progress and balance how much work everyone has. Select Board > Group by > Assigned To. From the Assigned To view, you can: See the bucket name under the task name so you can balance work by priority. Drag-and-drop tasks to change who they're assigned to. Close a task When you're done with a task, close it to mark it as complete. Select Complete task when you're finished with a task and want to close it. Source: Microsoft

Track a task with buckets and labels Use buckets and labels to sort and track tasks. Create different buckets to see and track the status of a task. Select a task and then add or remove labels to track where each article is in the publishing process. Share and collaborate with a SharePoint document library Keep your articles in a SharePoint document library so you can share and collaborate with others. Select More > Files. Select New > Word document. Select the file title and type the name of your article. Go to the Planner tab, open the related task, and select Add attachment > SharePoint to attach the document. Select your article and then select Save. Review individual assignments See each assignment so team members can report on the status of their articles. Select Group by > Assigned To. Track a process
Create a task Create a task at the beginning of your workflow. Select + to create a task. Type the patient's ID number. Select a due date. Select Assign to give the task to someone, and then select Add Task. Add files to a task Attach a file to a task so colleagues have the information they need as a task moves through a workflow. To attach the patient's paperwork, select a task and then select Add attachment > SharePoint. Select the patient's file and then select Save. Add details to a task Provide details on a task to further help a task through a workflow. Select a task and then type in what you want in the Description. Press Tab to save it, and then select Show on card so the info will appear on the task once it's closed. Note: The appointment information now appears on the task, and the new owner gets a notification that a patient is assigned to them when they sign in to Planner. Move and reassign a task Keep tasks moving in a workflow by moving them to another bucket and reassigning them. In a task, select the Bucket drop-down arrow and then select the next bucket in the workflow. Select the assigned person on the task, choose a new owner, and select X to remove the previous assigned person. Assign a task Assign or reassign a task to someone else. Select Assign to and choose the person to receive your task. Select X to remove the previous owner. Source: Microsoft
