How to download Microsoft 365 on a Mac Device
1. Go to https://portal.office.com/Account. Enter your CUNYfirst username then click Next
Note: Your CUNYfirst username is always Firstname.Lastname## followed by @login.cuny.edu, where ## is the last 2 digits of your CUNY EMPLID number.
For Example: Jane.Doe00@login.cuny.edu.
2. You will be redirected to the CUNYfirst login page. Enter your CUNYfirst username and password then click Log in.
Note: Your CUNYfirst username is always your FirstName.LastName##, where ## is the last 2 digits of your CUNY EMPLID number.
3. Verify your Microsoft 365 MFA
Note: If you receive a prompt for "Let's Keep Your Account Secure", you have not setup Microsoft 365 MFA. Please follow this article to set it up: How to Access QC Email and Setup Microsoft 365 MFA
4. Click on Install Office
5. The Microsoft Office Installer will download, once the download is complete, open the file to start the installation process.
6. On the first installation screen, click on Continue to begin the installation process
7. Review the software license agreement, and then click Continue
8. Select Agree to agree to the terms of the software license agreement
9. Choose how you want to install Microsoft 365 and click Continue
10. Review the disk space requirements or change your install location, and then click Install
11. Enter your Mac login password, if prompted, and then click Install Software
Note: This is the password that you use to log in to your Mac.
12. The software begins to install. Click Close when the installation is finished.
13. To activate Microsoft 365, open any application, like Word. Sign in with your CUNYfirst account used at the beginning of this KB article. Once signed in, Microsoft 365 will be activated.
