Take Notes
Type a note Click or tap anywhere on the page and start typing. All of your work is saved automatically. Move a note Drag the top of the content box to where you want it on the page. Resize a note Drag the side of the content box to resize it. Handwrite notes You can handwrite notes with a mouse, stylus, or your finger. Select Draw, select a pen, and start writing. Convert handwriting to text Choose Select Objects or Type Text or Lasso Select. Draw a circle around the text and select Ink to Text. Now you can edit the text the same way you edit your typed text. Use OneNote to record audio notes Click or tap the page, and then select Insert > Audio. OneNote immediately starts recording. To end the recording, select Stop. To listen to the recording, press the Play button, or double-click the audio recording. Source: Microsoft

Insert pictures, files, and videos
Insert a picture Tap or click where you want to add a picture on the page. Select Insert > Pictures and select From File. Find the picture you want and select Open. Insert a copy of a file Select Insert > File. Select Insert as Attachment. Select the file and select Open. Insert a PDF Printout Select Insert > File. Select Insert PDF Printout. Select the file and select Open. Insert a video Find the video you want online. Copy the video URL from the address bar. Select where you want it on the page, and paste it. You can select the link to play the video back at its source or select the Play button on the embedded video and watch it right in your notes. Source: Microsoft

Create more room in your notebook
Add a page Select Show Notebooks. Select +Page. Type a meaningful title for the page. Add a section To keep your pages organized, create a section. Select Show Notebooks. Select +Section. Type a meaningful title for the section. Add a notebook Select Show Notebooks. Select +Notebook. Type a meaningful name and select Create Notebook. Insert or remove extra space Select Draw > Insert or Remove Extra Space. Position the line where you want to add or remove space. Drag to insert or remove extra space. Source: Microsoft

Format notes
Format notes Select the Home tab and then select the formatting you want like font, font size, Bold, Italic, or Underline. Highlight text Select Highlight and select a color you want. Create lists Select Bullets or Numbering to create a list. Indent text Select Increase Indent to indent text. Align notes Select Paragraph Formatting to: Align notes left, center, or right. Add tags like Important, Question, or Critical, and select them again to remove from your notes. Apply styles Select Styles to apply a Heading, Page Title, Citation, or Quote to your notes. Clear formatting Select Clear All Formatting to clear all text formatting. Insert Link Type the address you want into your page to automatically create a link, or select Insert > Link. Draw and sketch
Try it! Draw or sketch in OneNote to bring your notes to life. Draw in your notebook Select Draw and select a Pen, Pencil, or Highlighter to use. Once you've selected what you want, select the downward-facing arrow. Select the pen's thickness. Select a color, or select More Colors to find a custom hue. Create shapes
Insert a shape Select Draw > Shapes. Choose a basic shape, like an Oval, click anywhere in your notebook, and then drag to create the shape. Draw a shape on a touch screen Tap Draw with Mouse or Touch. Tap Ink to Shape. Draw a shape. Your hand-drawn shapes automatically turn into shapes with straight lines and clean corners. Search for notes Select the magnifying glass or press Ctrl+F. Type a search word or phrase. OneNote highlights search words in typed text, handwritten notes, and even words shown in pictures.
