Spring 2024 Announcements below:
Welcome Message from the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs
Greetings from Queens College and welcome to the Spring 2024 semester!
On behalf of the entire Queens College Student Affairs Team, I am excited to welcome you to campus for the coming semester and I hope you are as excited to be here as we are to have you!
As you prepare for the start of classes, I encourage you to check your Queens College email often. This is the official outlet for communication with Queens College and many of your updates and messages will only be sent to that account. If you are having issues accessing your account, please contact Information Technology Services by visiting the HelpDesk in the Dining Hall or contacting them online via their webpage at https://www.qc.cuny.edu/its/.
Before you do anything else, please take a moment to sign up for the CUNY Alert service. This is a text and e-mail service that will keep you updated with important announcements from Queens College and the City University of New York such as closings, delays, etc. To sign up, visit https://www.cuny.edu/cuny-alert/ and scroll down to “Subscribing to CUNY Alert.”
Did you know that there are scholarships available for QC students? Feel free to read more about them at https://qc-cuny.academicworks.com/opportunities and apply online at https://qc-cuny.academicworks.com/users/sign_in!
When trying to make appointments with offices on campus, be sure to log into EAB Navigate to make an appointment in advance. You can do so by visiting https://qc-cuny.navigate.eab.com/app/#/authentication/remote/.
Over the coming semester, you will see some changes in our food options on campus. In addition to our traditional dining hall offerings, the campus is working with local vendors to provide additional service via food trucks and pop-up vendors, both in the Dining Hall and the Student Union. The campus will keep you updated with varying options so that you can try out all the different things we have to offer in between classes!
As you make your way to campus, please be mindful of the following suggestions to ensure an easy arrival for class:
• Shuttle Bus - Commuting to campus via Public Transportation? Did you know that Queens College offers a free service to our students arriving via Jamaica, Forest Hills, and Downtown Flushing? Please see the schedule and route map on our website at https://www.qc.cuny.edu/a/shuttle/
• Access-A-Ride access to campus - If you plan to use Access-A-Ride services to come to campus or to leave, the process is easy! Simply instruct your driver to arrive via the Entrance Gate closest to where you need to be dropped off or picked up and when they arrive at campus, Public Safety will allow them access.
• Uber/Lyft drop-off locations - When using a ride-share service, we ask that you find a drop-off outside of campus that is nearest the gate you plan to access. Please keep in mind that it is best to have the driver pull up 50-100 feet beyond that gate entrance so that they do not cause congestion for other traffic driving in that same area while they wait for you.
Lastly, check our Student Affairs webpage as often as possible. We keep it updated with activities, leadership development opportunities, and news important for your success at Queens College. Bookmark our page now: https://www.qc.cuny.edu/sl/ and follow us on Instagram @QCStudentAffairs to see what we are up to!

Changes to the 2024-2025 FAFSA Form
Current QC students should apply for financial aid by completing the FAFSA every year. For the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year, the 2024-2025 FAFSA application is now available. What’s changed for the 2024–25 FAFSA form? View the video below to find out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOgIb7StyPU
The Queens College priority deadline for filing the FAFSA application is March 1st, but don’t wait until then. By filing your FAFSA sooner, you will find out about your eligibility sooner, and get a clearer picture of your financial resources.
To be considered for any type of financial aid, you must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are a resident of New York State, you must also complete the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application.
Sincerely,

As a reminder, CUNY's policy on religious accommodation allows students to request and be granted academic and attendance accommodations based on religious belief. A link to the policy is posted here:
https://www.cuny.edu/about/administration/offices/legal-affairs/policies-resources/reasonable-accommodations-and-academic-adjustments/vi-religious-accommodations/

1. Students requesting a religious accommodation should contact the Office for Student Affairs at the College or unit in which they are enrolled. The Chief Student Affairs Officer, or a designee, and the student will engage in an interactive process with the goal of finding an acceptable accommodation.
2. Consistent with New York State Education Law § 224-a, students who are absent from school because of a religious belief will be given the equivalent opportunity, without any additional fee charged, to register for classes or make up any examination, study or work requirements missed because of such absence on any particular day or days.
